Shelby County Parks Foundation
The Parks Foundation was established in 2011 when the 501c3 status was obtained. This foundation will play a big part in obtaining grants for park additions and improvements.
Money, property, and vehicles can all be given as donations to the Foundation for Shelbyville/Shelby County Parks & Recreation and will be tax exempt. Scholarship funds can also be established for large donation amounts in individual or company names. Immediate park needs are funds to match grants for the fitness trail equipment at Red Orchard Park, construction of activity building at Shelby Trails Park, and land acquisition for land adjacent to Clear Creek Park for athletic field expansion.
